How would you describe AuditComply in three words?
“Relaxed, social, and motivating.”
What are you currently studying, and what inspired that choice?
“I’m currently studying Software Engineering at QUB and if I’m being honest, that choice was down to a coin flip. I loved biology and IT in school and knew I wanted to go into one of those fields, so I quite literally flipped a coin, which landed me in the course I’m in now.”
What brought you to AuditComply? What encouraged you to apply for the position?
“When looking for placement, I didn’t know exactly what role I wanted to go into but I knew I wanted to learn as much as possible. I ended up stumbling across AuditComply online, and after looking through the website, I realised that their goal of optimising and transforming processes that are essential for businesses worldwide to succeed was something I wanted to be a part of. I also heard that dogs were allowed in the office and that was a big plus for me.”
What are you most excited to learn during your time here?
“The biggest thing for me is to learn roughly what role I would like to go into after graduation (QA, Development, etc), although I’m also really excited to learn more about the software development cycle and how a company like AuditComply goes about creating, maintaining, and promoting their software and other products.”
How would you sum up your experience with AuditComply so far?
“So far it’s been very positive, even though I’ve only been with AuditComply for a short amount of time, I feel right at home. One of the most important aspects of a company for me is the culture, and the culture here is what most companies strive for. Here I feel comfortable learning and developing my skills without being judged, even if I ask a million questions with obvious answers.”
What parts of our mission do you connect most with?
“I really connect with the idea of transforming and benefiting the industry I work in and many more, along with that, the push for companies to go paperless is also appealing as I really care about the climate and believe major companies should always be striving to help reduce the impact they have on climate change.”
What are your favourite perks/benefits?
“The hybrid work model would be my favourite benefit as it allows me to consistently work in an environment that I feel comfortable in whether it be from home or in the office.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“I love playing guitar and piano (please don’t ask me to play, I’m not that good), I also spend way too much money on concerts and travelling. Music really takes up a majority of my time but I also love playing games and reading.”
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
“This is a surprisingly tough question. If I had to pick one, I’d go with Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon. I really connect with his music and feel like the conversation could give me a lot of insight into his music and music production as a whole. Honourable mention definitely goes to Chester Bennington of Linkin Park for a similar reason.”
