Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an accomplished AWS engineer to join us for continuing to improve and scale our systems. A person with experience in cloud-based tech with a firm hold on cutting-edge technologies, platforms, and applications will be an ideal match. Extensive familiarity with cloud maintenance, excellent industry insight, and knowledge of managing staff is the key to keeping up to date with the latest requirements.

About the Role

What will you be doing?

  • Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Migrate our infrastructure with zero downtime to a highly available, scalable one.
  • Define service capacity planning strategies.
  • Build upon the application’s use of CI/CD pipeline and make suggestions for an improved stack.
  • Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or similar.
  • Manage, maintain and educate others via group sessions to further everyone’s understanding of future changes to the platform.

What you will need

Desired

  • Experience with planning, designing, developing, architecting, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with Python, Django and Django DRF
  • Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale systems design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.

Required

  • 4yrs+ Python & Django experience
  • 2yrs+ Django DRF or equivalent
  • 5yrs+ AWS experience
  • Proven track record of scaling a web platform
  • Extensive experience in managing and manipulating large data volumes
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organisation, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • History of managing and maintaining standards related to ISO 27001
