Senior Software Engineer

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a senior engineer to join us to improve and scale our systems. A person with experience in cloud-based tech with a firm hold on cutting-edge technologies, platforms, and applications will be an ideal match. Familiarity with Python (Django), iOS (Swift), Android (Java), and knowledge of the latest development techniques is key.

About the Role

What will you be doing?

  • Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Build upon the application’s use of CI/CD pipeline and make suggestions for an improved stack.
  • Engage with staff, customers and other people to design, develop, and implement new features from (and to) a well written spec.
  • Plan multiple projects simultaneously. Estimate, track and complete projects on time and within guidelines.
  • Manage, maintain and educate others via group sessions to further everyone’s understanding of future changes to the platform.

What you will need

Desired

  • Experience with planning, designing, developing, architecting, and implementing cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Python, Django, DRF, Docker
  • Ability to demonstrate security best practices
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
  • Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.

Required

  • 2yrs+ Python & Django experience
  • 2yrs+ AWS experience
  • Proven track record of developing a web platform
  • Experience in managing and manipulating large data volumes
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organisation, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Ability to manage and maintain standards related to ISO 27001
